A$AP Ferg – Floor Seats
The Hood Pope, A$AP Ferg’s moniker from his eponymous freshman album, released an anticipated album following up his 2017 EP “Still Striving.” The album features multiple house names of the rap game, including long-time friend and label mate A$AP Rocky, the sensational Rico Nasty, the City Girls duo, and illustrious vocalist Ty Dolla $ign. Speaking on collaborating with a number of female artists, Ferg explained “It’s been a demographic that I feel, like, I haven’t really tapped into or really focused on,” he said. “And then when I witnessed what ‘Plain Jane’ did with Nicki (Minaj), it kind of opened my mind up to, like, ‘Oh wow, this is how I can turn up with a woman.’ I always thought a woman song was gotta to be kind of slow and kind of soft, but I can keep the energy up and turn up with a woman, as well. I figured out a way to do it.”
At just 27 minutes of playtime, the project is The Hood Pope’s shortest by a wide margin, serving up a condensed style of storytelling, revisiting the artist’s come-up.
