Brighton, UK has a reputation of developing amazing alternative and indie bands such as Tigercub, Demob Happy and Wild Front. These bands have all outgrown the local scene and are killing it on a national and international level. Their successes have really set the benchmark for up-and-coming bands and inspired the scene as a whole. If you are from Brighton, or involved in the music scene there or in the South-East, the chances are that you will have heard of Beach Riot. Beach Riot have been passed the torch and are absolutely killing it with their new 7’’ double A side, including singles Robot and Stuck Inside.

Stuck Inside is an anthem dedicated to independent and empowering women all across the world. The band’s Rory explains: “‘Stuck Inside’ was inspired by conversations with amazing, empowering women artists and friends we know and love, about how they navigate what is still a hugely male dominated world…”. Beach Riot have got the makings to be a massive and influential band, with all previous songs providing gritty riffs, rhythmic drums and amazing songwriting. Stuck Inside is a punk-leaning slice of indie rock, produced by Steve Ansell of Blood Red Shoes.

‘Robot’ and ‘Stuck Inside’ are similar in the sense that it’s built around a persistent, stabbing riff. But when you can write riffs as good as Beach Riot can, they never get old.
