BROCKHAMPTON – GINGER
Picture it. Strings atop a chopped instrumental, accompanied by singing and rapping: we’ve heard it before, it’s not new. The 13-member Texas-based collective Brockhampton, however, has got a different view on it. The opening song, “No Halo,” offers a peek into what vibe the album GINGER is going for, with darker themes than usual, and a more mellow, less party-oriented direction. Led by Kevin Abstract, the BROCKHAMPTON collective came out of San Marcos, TX in 2015, releasing their debut album “Saturation” in June 2017 as the first instalment of their Saturation trilogy.
Their fourth album, Iridescence, peaked at #1 on the Billboard 100 album chart, in September 2018, ushering in their second trilogy “The Best Years of our Lives.”
