This version of ‘Gassed’ brings out the emotions and intensity of the original in a more focused light. Beautiful, contemplative vocals are backed by steady piano chords, eventually culminating in a mellow blend of organic instrumentals. Despite their secretive identity, the enigma around Weslee has ignited a flame of curiosity across the blogosphere and beyond.
Willolux – Cedar + Fir – Kristina Emmott, also known under the stage name willolux is a Canadian is a synthesis of nostalgic indie-folk with modern dream pop. Her introspective, whimsical songs recall the intimate, personal works of singer/songwriters Brandi Carlile, Laura Marling, Ingrid Michaelson, and Regina Spektor. Latest single ‘Cedar + Fir’ is a ballad that you’ll get swept away in.
River Matthews – Stars – You only have to listen to River Matthews’ new cut ‘Stars’ to instantly see what all the fuss is about. The release is uniquely therapeutic, written during an overnight stay in the Scottish Highlands when all he had was his guitar and the clear night sky.
JCAL X Most Art – Love I Hate – Jack Calneggia (JCAL) has teamed up with fellow Perth native Most Art, who is better known for his part in blues/rock group Vorsen for new track ‘Love I Hate’. JCAL is no stranger to musical collaborating, being apart of 4AM Collective, often teaming up with various members to create electronic music that seems to cover just about every sub-genre.
