Getting a release this week are storming new singles from London innovator Darq E Freaker – ‘Red Velvet’ and ‘Butterscotch’ are the first of a series of A/B side releases.

‘Butterscotch’ hits a familiar rave vibe that moves with a progressive groove, a mix of UK and US influences. Chopped, pitched snatches of vocals loop over its steppy beat with crisp rhythmicality, and it has plenty of low-end heat driving it forward. Darq E Freaker says of the tracks: “Red Velvet/ Butterscotch’ are inspired by UK rave, music I grew up with – but seen through the lens of my experiences in the last few years: travelling, going to events and working with people all over the world.’
