London duo fika are back at it again with their new single ‘Let It Be’. ‘Let It Be’ is fika’s latest release on Absent Mind, a British record label that despite being only over a year old, has had a plethora of releases from the likes of Tom Palk, Han Chien Leow and Ipaca. With ‘Let it Be’ being the follow up to their glorious releases ‘High’ and ‘Better Now’, the duo has risen to the challenge and produced another glowing slice of neo-soul and chilled electronica.

Easy guitar riffs and soul-drenched vocals wrap their way around ‘Let It Be’. fika are definitely starting to garner a reputation for their unique production style in which they show off their musicality and their creativity. Overlaying soulful guitar solos with almost lofi/chillhop styled drum groove, matched with tasteful vocal lines over the top really shows us why they’ve been receiving hype from tastemakers such as BBC Radio One!

It’s not often that you get producers who can actually draw influence from multiple genres, mash all of them together and come out with a track sounding like this, while still clearly respecting the key points of each genre and maintaining their integrity. Thus, making ‘Let it Be’ the perfect tune to keep warm as the temperatures outside plummet!
