For fans of Slaves and Rat Boy, FREAK comes from Chelmsford and is the alter-ego of 18-year-old Connar Ridd, who’s got a whole bunch of industry people taking note at the moment.

He makes poppy, grunge and Arctic Monkeys influenced bangers and latest single ‘Cake’ sticks it to the man and the machine. ‘Cake’ is a song about people taking the piss and thinking that they can do whatever they like and get away with it,” says Connar.
