Sunken – Over The Days

Sunken are already making waves. Swinging into the sweet spot between the confidence of youth and the elegance of experience, and they’ve built their burgeoning reputation with shows alongside the likes of Hundred Waters, Sorry, Puma Blue and Joy Crookes.
Self-produced by the South London-based band, ‘Over The Days’ is a beguiling, sensual groove which exudes dusky midnight vibes. Evoking the passion and uncertainty of tentative romance, Poppy Billingham’s soulful vocal is Sunken’s most immediately enamouring trait. Yet the band’s power also breaks through with a jazz-tinged instrumental denouement.
“‘Over The Days’ is about the progression of a relationship, the growth of two people together but also their growth as individuals,” says Poppy. “The song explores the notion of co-dependency within a relationship, learning to be less reliant on one person whilst equally learning to love them unconditionally. It helped me value the importance of appreciating the time spent alone away from your significant other as well as the self-respect that comes from being in a healthy relationship.”
