Youth Sector – Renting Spaces in My World

‘Renting Spaces in My World’ is the new single from Brighton based, Youth Sector. The single is an instant head bop that’s guaranteed to get you nodding along. Youth Sector have gained noticeable plaudits, with previous singles ‘Run’ and ‘Dig It and Repeat’ receiving plays on Radio 1, Amazing Radio and BBC Radio 6. ‘Renting Spaces’ shows that the band are not planning on slowing down anytime soon.

The sound of ‘Renting Spaces’ places itself somewhere between The Strokes and Squid. Font man Nick Tompkins, has a unique and assertive tone to his singing, making the listener pay attention from the offset. Throughout the track he’s portraying someone who is delusional, believing that everyone else is existing for them and that everyone is living in their world. Josh Doyle’s timely placed bass riffs shows off the band’s creativity and musical maturity, which makes the single even more impressive.

This, topped with rhythmical drums, energetic guitar and intuitive synths makes ‘Renting Spaces’ a great single.
